Tawant
Tawant is a Canarian duo formed by Juan Pérez and Michel Ortega, two musicians who combine their experience in jazz, electronics, cinematic music and club sounds to create a unique and vibrant proposal that connects the roots of its land with a contemporary and universal vision.
Backed by Ineffable Records (Mexico City) and Lambada Records (Gran Canaria), Tawant is committed to free and unpretentious music, made from the heart, seeking the balance between the instinctive and the mental.
He was born into a family with a great musical tradition.. Music has been present throughout his life. He has trained in jazz singing at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (SMOOTH) with Carme Canela and Ana Finger, also having complementary studies in Canarian timple, transverse flute, Venezuelan four or guitar.
Despite his youth, Julia has spent a lifetime on stage, and has led him to play on stages throughout the Canary archipelago, Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico and Uruguay.
